Chapin Womans Club

Bo Bowman receives a grant check from Sarah Blackmon, Treasurer of the Chapin, SC Womans Club.  The club was moved to give Angel Flight a donation after hearing in a presentation on the services Angel Flight provides.


JMS Burn Center

Bo Bowman met with Dr. Mullins at the JMS Burn Center in Augusta, GA.  Dr. Mullins is the Medical Director and President of the Burn Center. They use Angel Flight extensively to transport burn patients to and from the center for frequest followup burn treatments. The largest percentage of missions coordinated for SC patients are for the Burn Center facility.


Bo's Longest Mission

Bo Bowman (right) prepares to depart Greenwood, SC with a caregiver on his 119th personal Angel Flight mission.  This mission was his longest ever----to Ft. Meyers, FL to transport a stable Alzheimer’s patient from her residence in Florida back to a home in Greenwood—her family’s hometown.  The family was very appreciative of the help Angel Flight provided.  The patient’s brother, shown in the picture, said “We could not have done this in a better way.  Angel Flight made this difficult family challenge so easy to resolve.”


SC Secy State Angel Award

Bo Bowman receives the Angel Award from SC Secretary of State Mark Hammond. This award to given each year to 10 selected charities based on the percentage of received funding that goes directly to the organization’s cause. This award can be received only one time.  Angel Flight Soars, Inc. is proud to have received it.

Stoney Point Ladies Association

The SC Branch receives a contribution from the Stoney Point Ladies Association in Greenwood.  This contribution was shared by the SC Branch and the Greenwood Soup Kitchen. Pictured are Bo Bowman, Nancy Van Waldick, Treasure of the SPLA, and Norm Fawcett, Director of the Greenwood Soup Kitchen. Angel Flight is so appreciative of the donations received from local SC community organizations.


March 2013 Caring for the Carolinas Award

Brenda's Mission Layover

Angel Flight Soars, Inc. has transported, and continues to transport, Brenda of Greenwood, SC many times, usually to Jackson, MS, for treatment for a serious stomach condition.  Shown here at the FBO at the Birmingham Airport are MS pilot Ray Leninger , Brenda, and Bo Bowman. Bo had transported Brenda to Birmingham where she was met by Ray for the flight to Jackson.


SC Branch Growth!

Since the SC Branch Office was established in January 2009, the number of missions coordinated has grown every year. The SC Branch is proud of this performance, especially since it has been over difficult economic times.


WSPA Interview

Jack Roper, host of Greenville, SC Channel 7 WSPA’s “Caring for the Carolinas” program, presented SC Branch Director Bo Bowman with the Caring for the Carolinas Award for March 2013. Every month “7 On Your Side” highlights a person, project or group that serves their community.  They do this as a reflection of their commitment to serving their coverage area through community service and public awareness campaigns.


Our SC Branch Angels

The SC Branch Office is staffed by Branch Director Jan Hudson and her Administrative Assistant Lisa Edmonds.  Jan formerly worked in fundraising at Erskine College in Due West, SC.  Jan and Lisa love working for Angel Flight Soars, Inc., helping to provide and grow AFS services in South Carolina.  The office is located at the Greenville Jet Center at the Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU).
