On a daily basis, Angel Flight Soars brings people to hope. During times of disaster, we bring hope to people.

While no mission is "typical", we coordinate medical and compassionate care flight regularly and on a daily basis. However, in times of natural and man-made disasters, we also answer the call.

9/11 Attacks

Angel Flight SoarsTM was instrumental in the 9/11 relief efforts in 2001. When all commercial & civilian aircraft were grounded, our volunteer pilots were called up to transport disaster relief workers, firefighters, Red Cross personnel, mental health workers, FBI agents, Police K9 units and search dogs. These flights headed to NY and DC and at the time, were the only planes in the skies other than military aircraft!

Hurricane Katrina

In the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Angel Flight Soars was proud to act as a first responder, flying over 450 critical and lifesaving relief missions into the hardest hit areas. Our volunteer pilots transported life-sustaining supplies, medical equipment and volunteer personnel into the disaster zones. Just as important, we also reunited dozens of Gulf Coast families who were separated due to the storm's severity.
The Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter of The Red Cross awarded Angel Flight the "Outstanding Group Award" for our support during the 2004 Hurricane Relief Efforts.

Hurricanes Harvey, Irma & Maria

After Hurricane Harvey arrived in 2017, Angel Flight Soars again coordinated the relocation of nurses, relief workers and volunteers to both Texas and Louisiana's disaster zones. Less than 2 weeks later, we responded to cries for help from the victims of hurricanes Irma and Maria, delivering hope to thousands on St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. Angel Flight delivered over 10 tons of critical medicines and supplies all thru the aid of our incredible volunteer pilots, volunteers and generous donors.

Covid-19

In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, ANGEL FLIGHT SOARS was also called upon to help. We immediately furthered our relationships with healthcare facilities throughout the Southeast to fly Covid-19 test specimens to their proper labs. We coordinated over 800 missions, enabling patients to receive test results in 8 hours - opposed to waiting a week or longer with ground transportation.

Our goal is to remove the transportation obstacles for our individual patients in need of medical care, but we also are called upon to help on a larger scale. Won't you be an Angel and join us?
